Kentucky hospital CEO out after less than a year

Joe Hugar is no longer president and CEO of Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Ky., effective Dec. 29, according to hospital news releases shared with Becker’s.

The hospital said Shane Fitzgerald was appointed interim CEO and will assume the role Jan. 5. 

“The board would like to express their appreciation for Mr. Hugar’s contributions to TRH during his tenure as CEO,” the hospital said. No further details about the departure were disclosed. 

Mr. Hugar took the helm of Taylor Regional in February. Before that, he held leadership roles at Sharon (Pa.) Regional Medical Center and Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, Ill.

Mr. Fitzgerald is COO of UofL Health–Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
