Jim Millard, president and CEO of Kenmore (N.Y.) Mercy Hospital, is retiring Jan. 6, 2018.

1. Mr. Millard has served as president and CEO of the hospital for the last nine years.

2. He has worked at Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health, Kenmore Mercy’s parent, for 34 years, beginning his association with the health system in 1981, when he was an intern in the pharmacy department at St. Joseph Hospital in Cheektowaga, N.Y.

3. During his tenure as Kenmore Mercy CEO, the hospital received the Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and expanded its hospitalist program to provide 24/7 inpatient coverage.

4. He also oversaw the construction of a new emergency department and of a new ambulatory surgery unit.

5. His previous roles at Catholic Health include serving as president and CEO of St. Joseph Hospital.
