Jason Anglin was named CEO of William Newton Hospital in Winfield, Kan., effective Aug. 31.
The board of trustees appointed Mr. Anglin to lead the nonprofit critical access hospital following an extensive search, according to a Sept. 2 news release. He succeeds Gigi Fergus, RN, who served as interim CEO for 12 months.
Mr. Anglin has 32 years of healthcare executive experience, including more than two decades as a CEO of community and regional hospitals, the release said. He most recently led Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville, Ala., and spent the first decade of his career as a hospital CFO.
He has guided five financial turnarounds, overseen eight construction projects and recruited more than 30 providers to rural and regional communities, according to the release.
Mr. Anglin’s early priorities include listening tours across hospital departments, an analysis of the hospital’s finances to shape the coming fiscal year plan and provider recruitment in primary care, emergency medicine, OB-GYN, orthopedic surgery and anesthesia, the release said. He also plans to explore establishing pain management services.
William Newton Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that operates six rural health clinics in Cowley, Elk and Chautauqua counties.
