Kaleida Health appoints 2 new hospital CMOs

 Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health has named new CMOs at two of its hospitals: Buffalo General Medical Center and Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

 Colin McMahon, MD, is now vice president CMO of BGMC. He was most recently the medical director of hospital operations at BGMC. Dr. McMahon earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Stephen Turkovich, MD, the new vice president and CMO of WCHOB, also earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and he is a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at the university. Dr. Turkovich most recently served as quality and patient safety officer and the co-medical director of the newborn nursery at WCHOB.

“Physician leadership is imperative if we are going to change culture, improve quality, safety and service to the patients that we serve,” David Hughes, MD, executive vice president and CMO of Kaleida Health, said in a news release. “Drs. McMahon and Turkovich are outstanding leaders and will serve as direct, onsite medical administration to facilitate our patient experience and quality of care initiatives.”
