Kaiser Permanente digital chief moves to Mayo Clinic

Nari Gopala has been named chief digital officer of Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, according to a health system spokesperson.

Mr. Gopala most recently served as senior vice president and chief digital officer of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, where he started in 2021. He has also worked in technology leadership roles for Amazon Web Services and Sony Online Entertainment.

He reports to Mayo Clinic Chief Administrative Officer Christina Zorn and replaces Rita Khan, who departed for Optum in 2023.

He will work alongside Brad Leibovich, MD, medical director for Mayo Clinic’s Center for Digital Health. “Together they will continue to advance digital transformation at Mayo to meet the present and future needs of patients and staff,” the spokesperson told Becker’s.
