Kaiser Permanante Names Dr. Patrick Courneya CMO

Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente has named Patrick Courneya, MD, executive vice president and CMO of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan.

Dr. Courneya most recently served as medical director for Bloomington, Minn.-based HealthPartners Health Plan. He is also a family practice physician and serves as chair of the America’s Health Insurance Plans’ Chief Medical Officer Leadership Council and the Alliance of Community Health Plans Medical Director Council.

Dr. Courneya is taking over duties from Jed Weissberg, MD, who will retire in May.
