Jacksonville Memorial Hospital names chief nursing officer

Carrie Carls, DNP, RN, has been named chief nursing officer of Jacksonville (Ill.) Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Carls had been serving in the role on an interim basis since July, when former CNO Leanna Wynn, RN, retired, according to a July 9 news release. 

Dr. Carls is the former director of professional nursing practice and clinical informatics at the hospital, which is part of Springfield, Ill.-based Memorial Health. She has worked at the Jacksonville Memorial Hospital for nearly 29 years.
