Mr. Monger’s resignation follows a legislative auditor’s report that said two former hospital employees mismanaged payments for accrued time off and payroll deductions, and awarded themselves more than $120,000 in unearned payments and benefits.
Louisiana police arrested three hospital employees and one employee’s husband in March on a range of charges, including theft, conspiracy and drug distribution.
Fannie Williams, chairman of the hospital’s board, said Mr. Monger resigned by his own accord and was not asked to step down.
