St. Dominic Health Services President Claude Harbarger to retire: 5 things to know

Jackson, Miss.-based St. Dominic Health Services President Claude W. Harbarger plans to retire, effective June 30.

Five things to know:

1. Mr. Harbarger joined St. Dominic’s in 1987 as senior vice president.

2. He was named president of St. Dominic Hospital in 1991 and president of the health system in 2012.

3. His retirement comes after the health system announced its transition of sponsorship to the Franciscan Calais Ministries and Baton Rouge-based Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.

4. Current St. Dominic Hospital President Lester K. Diamond will replace Mr. Harbarger as president of the health system July 1.

5. He holds a master’s degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
