Chad Towner has been appointed president and CEO of Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, effective Oct. 19.
Mr. Towner most recently served as CEO of Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital in Warsaw, Ind., according to an Oct. 5 hospital news release. He brings 30 years of healthcare experience, including nearly two decades in senior executive leadership.
Mr. Towner previously served as COO of St. Joseph Hospital and CEO of Dupont Hospital, both in Fort Wayne, Ind. In 2016, he became president and CEO of Mishawaka, Ind.-based Saint Joseph Health System and Indiana market president within Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, where he led a Catholic nonprofit regional healthcare ministry encompassing two hospitals, a physician network and other healthcare services.
Mr. Towner will succeed interim president and CEO Greg DeWolf.
