Brett Altman plans to retire as CEO of Atlantic, Iowa-based Cass Health on Jan. 1, 2027, marking his 10-year anniversary with the organization.
Mr. Altman joined Cass Health in 2017 and led the hospital through a decade of growth, doubling its market share and expanding services to more than 36,000 residents across southwest and west-central Iowa, according to a Jan. 28 hospital news release He will remain on the leadership team through the end of 2026 to support the transition.
During his tenure, the hospital recruited more than 100 providers and launched new service lines and infrastructure projects. His departure comes as the organization is executing a five-year strategic plan, which includes expansions and remodels scheduled through 2028.
Mr. Altman previously served as president and CEO of Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa, and is concluding a 36-year career in healthcare leadership.
