Stacey Leva, DO, was named president and CEO of Franciscan Health Michigan City (Ind.).

Dr. Leva had served as interim president and CEO before the Franciscan Alliance board of trustees appointed her to the role earlier this year, according to an Oct. 1 news release. She also has executive oversight of Franciscan locations in LaPorte and Porter counties.

She previously was Franciscan Alliance’s corporate vice president for Franciscan ACO and has served as an associate professor of family medicine at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, the release said. Over a career of more than 20 years, she has led a multistate physician hospital organization and advanced population health programs.

“I look forward to continuing to uphold the 150-year mission of the Franciscan Alliance healthcare ministry while leading us forward in caring for our co-workers, patients and communities with dignity and compassion,” Dr. Leva said in the release.

Dr. Leva succeeds Dean Mazzoni, who left to pursue other professional opportunities. Mr. Mazzoni took on the Porter County role in September 2025 as part of a broader leadership shift at the system.

Franciscan Health Michigan City is part of Mishawaka, Ind.-based Franciscan Alliance, which operates 11 hospital campuses and has more than 16,000 employees.
