Duke Walker has been named COO of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho-based Kootenai Health, effective Aug. 25.
Mr. Walker has experience in healthcare operations and strategic planning, according to a July 10 hospital news release. He most recently served as vice president of operations at Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health, a $3 billion health system.
Both Kootenai Health and Lee Health transitioned to nonprofit status in 2024 — Kootenai in January and Lee Health in November.
Prior to his role at Lee Health, Mr. Walker was COO at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, a 422-bed regional medical center in Milwaukee.
Kootenai Health includes a 381-bed hospital and multiple clinics.
