HSHS St. John’s Hospital CEO to resign

Charles Lucore, MD, president and CEO of HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill., is resigning Oct. 31, according to The State Journal-Register.

Dr. Lucore became CEO of the hospital in 2014, prior to which he was a practicing cardiologist with Springfield-based Prairie Cardiovascular. He is leaving to take on the president role at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, N.Y.

Dr. Lucore joined Springfield-based Hospital Sisters Health System, St. John’s Hospital’s parent, when it acquired Prairie Cardiovascular in 1992. He has also served as executive director of Prairie Heart Institute at St. John’s.
