Dr. Chapman has served as a longtime leader of The HSC Foundation, the parent company of The HSC Health Care System, for nearly two decades.
Since 1998, Dr. Chapman has initiated the implementation and expansion of various community-based programs within HSC Health Care System, officials said. Specifically, he has worked to address social determinants that often prevent access to health services, as well as the development of a National Youth Transitions Center.
Before joining The HSC Foundation, Dr. Chapman was a senior associate vice president for network development and professor of health services management and policy at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.; CEO of The George Washington University Hospital; and president of the Greater Southeast Healthcare System in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Chapman is also currently on boards for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and Kaiser Permanente (Mid-Atlantic).
Moving forward, Dr. Chapman will assist The HSC Foundation board in finding his successor.
