Houston Methodist taps former Advocate Health CFO

Prior to his new role, Mr. DeFurio served as executive vice president and CFO of Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health, where his leadership resulted in more than $1 billion in integration savings for the health system, according to the release.

Mr. DeFurio resigned from Advocate Health in August 2023 to take on opportunities outside of the health system. 

Advocate Health was formed in December 2022 through a merger between Charlotte-based Atrium Health and Advocate Aurora Health, which has dual headquarters in Milwaukee and Downers Grove, Ill..
