New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery has selected Amy Fahrenkopf, MD, to serve as senior vice president and the first general manager of HSS Health, effective Nov. 4.
Hospital for Special Surgery is an academic medical center focused on musculoskeletal health, and HSS Health builds on the hospital's existing health programs for employers, enabling them to offer employees personalized health education, virtual care and an expanded network of locations.
Dr. Fahrenkopf most recently worked at Socially Determined, a healthcare analytics firm, where she served as senior vice president for value-based strategy and CMO. She has also held leadership roles at Pittsburgh-based Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, McKinsey & Co., and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
She has served on the medical staff at Boston Children's Hospital and as an instructor in pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Fahrenkopf holds a master's degree in public health from Cambridge, Mass.-based Harvard University.
