Dr. Francis previously spent five years at San Leandro, Calif.-based Alameda County Health Care Services Agency, where he served as interim director and medical director of Health Care for the Homeless. He was also the medical director of the Urban Male Health Initiative, a campaign led by the Alameda County Public Health Department. Before that, Dr. Francis worked as a physician at Oakland, Calif.-based Alta Bates Summit East Bay AIDS Center.
Dr. Francis continues to provide urgent care services at an Oakland-based community clinic and serves as an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco.
