Health First taps Navy veteran as CIO: 4 notes

Rockledge, Fla.-based Health First appointed William Walders CIO, according to a Space Coast Daily report.

Four notes:

1. Mr. Walders has served in IT leadership roles for the last 12-plus years.

2. Most recently, he was chief technology officer of federal health and senior director of U.S. Defense Department strategy for VMware, a software company in Boston.

3. He spent 22 years in the U.S. Navy.

4. Mr. Walders holds an MBA and a master’s degree in healthcare from Gainesville-based University of Florida.
