HCA Tennessee hospital taps COO

John Summers, RN, has been appointed COO of TriStar Hendersonville (Tenn.) Medical Center, effective May 11. 

In his new role, Mr. Summers plans to continue advancing operational excellence, supporting service growth and strengthening patient experience, he wrote in a May 5 LinkedIn post.

He currently serves as division vice president, focusing on quality, patient safety and infection prevention. 

“That work has reinforced for me that exceptional outcomes are never accidental — they are built through strong teams, aligned leadership, and a relentless commitment to doing the right thing for patients every time,” Mr. Summers wrote.

He stepped into the division vice president role at Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Division in September 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before that, he served as chief nursing officer at Texas Health Allen.

TriStar Hendersonville Medical center is a 159-bed hospital.
