Ms. Berres is currently vice president of human resources business partners and HR strategy for the hospital giant. She has worked within the HCA network of hospitals since 1993, when she joined Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, Fla.
She serves on the board of the Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee and holds an MBA from Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Fla.
Ms. Berres succeeds John M. Steele, who will retire early next year after 25 years with HCA.
