HCA Florida North Florida Hospital names new CNO

Michelle Farris, BSN, is joining HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville as chief nursing officer.

In the new role, Ms. Farris will have oversight of nursing operations at the 523-bed hospital, its outpatient centers, and four freestanding emergency departments, according to an Aug. 29 news release sent to local news outlets. 

For the past two years, Ms. Farris has served as CNO of HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, a level 2 trauma center in Kissimmee. Under her leadership, the hospital saw the highest registered nurse engagement rates of 14 hospitals that make up HCA North Florida Division.
