HCA Florida hospital taps COO

Matt Johnston has been named COO of HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Fla.

Mr. Johnston joined the hospital with more than 16 years of healthcare leadership experience, according to an Aug. 5 HCA Florida news release.

He most recently served as COO of HCA Florida Trinity Hospital for four years. In that role, he oversaw the construction and opening of a freestanding emergency room in Sunlake and aligned business operations across the hospital and affiliated outpatient care sites.

Before joining HCA Florida Trinity Hospital, Mr. Johnston served as vice president of operations at The Medical Center of Aurora in Colorado, now known as HCA HealthONE Aurora.

All three hospitals are part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
