HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee has named Alex Masmela, BSN, RN, as its new CEO, effective March 30.
Mr. Masmela most recently served as COO of HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, according to an April 1 hospital news release shared with Becker’s. In that role, he oversaw a 67-bed expansion that included five level 3 neonatal ICU beds, 30 adult ICU beds and 32 medical-surgical beds, as well as a new hybrid operating room.
He succeeded Brian Melear, RN, who retired after nearly 27 years with the hospital.
HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility and is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
