Hawaii system names interim CEO

Wailuku, Hawaii-based Maui Health has named Vice President and COO Wade Ebersole as interim CEO, effective May 3.

Mr. Ebersole will step into the role previously held by Lynn Fulton, who said she plans to step down and return to Illinois to be closer to family, according to an April 14 health system news release.

Mr. Ebersole joined Maui Health in 2021 and has supported efforts to improve quality, safety and operational performance. He also helped improve the organization’s financial performance and served as incident commander during the 2023 wildfires.

He brings more than 15 years of healthcare administration experience and most recently served as chief administrative officer at Denver Health System.

Maui Health employs more than 1,600 residents and partners with approximately 460 hospital-based physicians, clinicians and community-based physicians.
