Valarie McPherson, DNP, RN, has been appointed to a dual role at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, N.J., as its chief nursing officer and chief operating officer, according to a June 27 news release shared with Becker's.
Dr. McPherson joined the medical center in 2021 as its chief nursing officer and now will take on additional responsibilities of the chief operating officer role as well.
In this new capacity, Dr. McPherson will be tasked with "bridging the gap between clinical and non-clinical operations," according to the release.
Her appointment to the dual role is effective immediately.
