Group gets federal approval to accredit PA, NP postgraduate programs

The Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers has earned approval from the Education Department to accredit postgraduate physician associate and joint nurse practitioner/PA training programs.

The approval makes the consortium the only organization in the U.S. to be federally recognized to accredit joint postgraduate NP/PA residency and fellowship training programs, the group said in a May 29 news release. 

The Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers was the first accrediting agency to earn federal recognition to accredit postgraduate NP residency and fellowship training programs in 2022.
