Green Valley Hospital names John Matuska CEO, ending David Covert’s term after 9 months: 4 things to know

Green Valley (Ariz.) Hospital tapped John Matuska to lead as CEO, according to a Green Valley News report.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Matuska has served in a number of healthcare leadership roles, including as COO of Good Samaritan Community Hospital in Suffern, N.Y.

2. He replaces current CEO David Covert, who began serving in the role in January on a consultant contract basis.

3. The hospital did not give a reason for the change in leadership. Officials also did not mention if Mr. Covert would serve in a different role within the organization.

4. Mr. Matuska signed a one-year contract.
