Ms. Cooper is “one of Atlanta’s most respected volunteer leaders,” according to a Dec. 13 news release from the health system. She currently serves on the boards of directors for Georgia Power Company, Intercontinental Exchange, SouthState Corp. and Veritiv Corp., according to her LinkedIn profile.

Ms. Cooper will work to raise funding for the health system following the recent closure of Atlanta Medical Center, which has increased patient volume at Grady. The health system has identified numerous projects to dilute that volume — additional primary care options, expansion of the burn center and other in-hospital clinics, and additional beds at the Crestview Health & Rehabilitation Center — which will require funding support, the release said.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
