Gila Regional administrator takes new CEO job: 4 things to know

Dan Otero, chief administrative officer of Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M., will leave his post to become CEO of Lordsburg, N.M.-based Hidalgo Medical Services, according to a Silver City Daily Press report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Otero.

1. He previously served as COO of GRMC, and was promoted to chief administrative officer in January 2014.

2. During his tenure, he assisted GRMC with the financial turnaround, according to the report.

3. At HMS, Mr. Otero will take over for Darrick Nelson, MD, the organization’s CMO, who has served as interim CEO since September 2015. 

4. According to the report, GRMC has not yet named a replacement for Mr. Otero.
