Bill Coleman retires after 50 years at Oconee Regional: 4 things to know

Bill Coleman, director of the radiology department at Milledgeville, Ga.-based Oconee Regional Medical Center, has decided to retire after more than half a century of service, according to a report from The Union-Recorder.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Coleman.

1. His last official day of work was Jan. 29.

2. Tammy Everett, who has worked at ORMC for the past 16 years, will replace Mr. Coleman. Her first official day in her new position will be Feb. 1.

3. Stephen Johnson, interim CEO of ORMC, called Mr. Coleman "a bright spot." He said, "The docs respect him, the employees respect him; he's been a warrior," according to the report. "Consistency is a hallmark of Bill Coleman. You know what you're going to get; it's not these ups and downs. You never have to worry about how he's doing. He's always doing the same."

4. Mr. Coleman is not the only leader to recently leave ORMC. Last year, Michael Vaughn was named interim CFO, replacing Brenda Qualls, who announced in August she would step down as CFO effective Sept. 18. Jean Aycock, who was the CEO of the hospital, resigned in May, and Interim CEO Randy Hoover resigned last fall.
