Oconee Regional Medical Center CEO resigns: 3 things to know

Jean Aycock, CEO of Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Ga., is resigning, according to a WMAZ report.

Here are three things to know about Ms. Aycock’s resignation.

1. Her resignation comes as the 75-bed hospital goes through some financial problems, which have resulted in about 12 layoffs, according to the report. The report notes that Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health has come in to help manage ORMC.

2. Ms. Aycock has not yet submitted her official letter of resignation, according to Karen Brooks, the marketing coordinator for ORMC. The hospital’s board of directors has received an intent to tender Ms. Aycock’s resignation, and once the board can prepare the proper resignation letter this week, it will request a motion to accept the letter, Ms. Brooks said in a statement, according to the report.

3. Ms. Aycock is expected to submit a letter of resignation this week.
