Dr. Hartle assumed the role Sept. 1, prior to which he was chair of Geisinger’s Medicine Institute, which includes several specialties, including gastroenterology, infectious diseases and emergency medicine. As chair, he oversaw a program to redesign primary care delivery.
He has worked at Geisinger since 1995, when he joined as a nephrologist. He is also a U.S. Air Force veteran.
