Seattle-based Fred Hutch has named Jessie Minton as vice president and chief digital and information officer, effective Dec. 7.

Fred Hutch, which operates two cancer research centers and 10 clinics, announced the appointment in an Oct. 7 LinkedIn post. Fred Hutch said the CDIO title “reflects an evolution of our traditional chief information officer role and underscores our continued focus on advancing digital infrastructure, technology and cybersecurity.”

Ms. Minton currently serves as vice chancellor for technology and chief information officer for Washington University in St. Louis, where she co-leads “one of the nation’s largest joint Epic EHR platforms — 57,000 users across a multi-hospital system shared with BJC Health — while leading a 700+ person, $123M enterprise IT organization,” according to her LinkedIn profile. She has also worked at the University of Oregon in Eugene and Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

At Fred Hutch, Ms. Minton will oversee technology and digital strategy and closely work with the organization’s new chief AI and innovation officer, Shawn Stapleton.
