Kevin Leahy, CEO of Mishawaka, Ind.-based Franciscan Alliance, has shared plans to step down from his position, effective Dec. 31, after 48 years with the nonprofit, Catholic health system.
Mr. Leahy will serve as an internal consultant after stepping down as CEO to assist in the leadership transition prior to retiring at the end of 2027, according to a June 19 news release shared with Becker’s.
Franciscan Alliance comprises 11 hospital campuses, multiple healthcare centers and more than 16,000 employees.
“It will take all of us working together to make sure we build upon the strong foundation that the Sisters and lay leaders established 150 years ago,” Mr. Leahy said in the release. “It is our responsibility to continue Christ’s ministry in our Franciscan tradition by serving the needs of all who seek healing of body, mind and spirit, especially the most vulnerable among us.”
