Former Accretive CEO joins Verscend Technologies: 7 things to know

Here are seven things to know about Dr. Rizk.

1. He is a healthcare industry senior executive with more than 25 years of experience working closely with payers and government entities.

2. Most recently, Dr. Rizk was CEO of Chicago-based Accretive Health, a revenue cycle services and physician advisory services provider. He also served as a member of its board of directors.

3. He stepped down from his positions at Accretive in May, less than six months after St. Louis-based Ascension Health and TowerBrook Capital Partners agreed to invest $200 million in Accretive. Under the contract, which was finalized in February, Accretive will exclusively provide revenue cycle and physician advisory services to Ascension’s hospitals.

4. Prior to joining Accretive Health, he was president of McKesson Health Solutions.

5. Before then, Dr. Rizk was senior partner and global director of medical management/pharmacy for Deloitte Consulting.

6. He is a lecturer at Wharton, Harvard, MIT, Columbia and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

7. Dr. Rizk is currently a board member of the National Association for Hispanic Health; Accuray; and Intarcia Therapeutics.
