Florida community hospital CEO Ginger Carroll leaving for new job

Ginger Carroll, RN, BSN, CEO of West Marion Community Hospital in Ocala, Fla., will leave her post to become CEO of Inverness, Fla.-based Citrus Memorial Hospital. 

Ms. Carroll has more than 16 years of leadership experience at facilities affiliated with Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.

She was appointed CEO of West Marion in 2007, after serving as CNO of Ocala Health.

Under her leadership, West Marion has grown from 70 beds to 174 beds, and 12 emergency rooms to 31, according to a hospital news release. The operating room capacity at the hospital has also doubled.

Ms. Carroll previously was CEO of Scott County Medical Center in Oneida, Tenn., which is affiliated with Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, and COO/CNO of Cleveland (Tenn.) Community Hospital.

She has a master's degree in management from the Melbourne-based Florida Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
