Dr. Stephen Reintjes is Missouri hospital’s next CEO: 4 things to know

North Kansas City (Mo.) Hospital has named Stephen L. Reintjes Sr., MD, president and CEO, effective in April.

Four things to know:

1. Dr. Reintjes, a neurosurgeon, will lead the 451-bed hospital as well as its physician network subsidiary, Meritas Health. 

2. He has worked at the hospital in various roles, including director of spine surgery and medical staff president. 

3. He serves on the boards of BioNexus KC, which focuses on healthcare innovation, and the Midwest Transplant Network.

4. Dr. Reintjes will succeed Peggy Schmitt, who is retiring.
