Fairbanks Memorial Hospital CEO to retire: 3 things to know

Fairbanks (Alaska) Memorial Hospital CEO Mike Powers plans to retire July 1, according to Alaska Dispatch News.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Powers.

1. Mr. Powers has served as CEO of Fairbanks Memorial since 1995. Prior to that, he was CFO.

2. While at Fairbanks Memorial, Mr. Powers oversaw the building of the Denali Center nursing home, the J. Michael Carroll Cancer Treatment Center, the Fairbanks Imaging Center, the new emergency department and the Harry and Sally Porter Heart & Vascular Center, according to the report.

3. Mr. Powers is vice chairman of the University of Alaska Board of Regents.
