Ex-interim CEO of Texas hospital unexpectedly dies

The former interim CEO of Nacogdoches (Texas) Memorial Hospital died Nov. 24, roughly one month after he retired from his post, according to KTRE 9 News.

Hospital Board President Lisa King confirmed the death Gary Kendrick to KTRE 9 News. She said Mr. Kendrick died from complications from chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma.

Mr. Kendrick announced his retirement as interim CEO of the hospital in October. He learned of his cancer diagnosis a few weeks after the announcement, the report states. He served as CEO of Nacogdoches Memorial at two different times, as well as interim CEO at Crockett (Texas) Hospital.
