El Rio Community Hospital names Dr. Nancy Johnson CIO: 4 things to know

In October, El Rio Community Hospital in Tucson, Ariz., welcomed a new CIO, according to an Arizona Daily Star report.

Here are four things to know about Nancy Johnson, PhD, the newly appointed CIO.

1. Dr. Johnson assumed the CIO role after Kathy Byrne retired, according to the report.

2. Dr. Johnson was COO of the community hospital for six years before becoming CIO.

3. El Rio Community Hospital’s board members unanimously agreed Dr. Johnson was the best candidate for the CIO position.

4. She has a master’s degrees in nursing and marketing. Additionally, Dr. Johnson has a PhD in health sciences from the University of Arizona in Tucson.
