The board unanimously voted not to renew the five-contract at a closed session meeting on Aug. 27. Ms. Ryba agreed with the board’s decision, according to a hospital press release.
Ms. Ryba took the helm at El Camino Hospital in October 2011. During her tenure, the hospital upgraded to an EMR system and finalized expansion plans for its Mountain View campus.
The board will begin the search for an interim CEO as well as a permanent CEO.
“It has been a privilege to serve as president and CEO of El Camino Hospital. In partnership with the El Camino Hospital and district boards, we have advanced patient quality, secured the organization’s financial viability, and increased community benefit to the residents of the region,” said Ms. Ryba. “I leave El Camino in a secure position for the future and honor the staff, physicians and generous donors for their many contributions. I am grateful to have had this opportunity and I look forward to pursuing new opportunities.”
