Edward-Elmhurst Health CEO Pam Davis to depart next year

Naperville, Ill.-based Edward-Elmhurst Health CEO Pam Davis is retiring, effective June 2017. For the past 28 years, she has led Edward Hospital in Naperville, and later Edward-Elmhurst Health, which now employs nearly 8,500 people.

During her tenure, Ms. Davis helped transform Edward Hospital from a small community hospital into a regional medical center. She helped oversee the founding of the Illinois Health Partners accountable care organization with Downers Grove, Ill.-based DuPage Medical Group and the merger between Edward Hospital and Elmhurst (Ill.) Hospital.

"I've known since a young age that I wanted to run a hospital. Both of my parents were physicians, and I was fascinated with how everything worked as I tagged along on rounds at the local hospital. I've lived my dream job," said Ms. Davis in a statement.

Edward-Elmhurst Health named Mary Lou Mastro, RN, as the new CEO, effective July 1, 2017. From Jan. 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017, Ms. Davis and Ms. Mastro will serve as co-CEOs. After June 30, 2017, Ms. Davis will continue as CEO emeritus through 2017.

Ms. Mastro is president and CEO of Elmhurst Hospital. The hospital named Pamela Dunley, the current hospital COO/CNO, as Ms. Mastro's successor, effective Jan. 1, 2017.
