Here are five things to know:
1. Deborah Carey Johnson, RN, who is currently president and CEO of EMMC, will continue as CEO until she retires in mid-2017.
2. Ms. Russell-Cook has served as EMMC’s senior vice president and COO since July 2015.
3. She will continue in her current roles until the hospital selects her successor.
4. She will then begin to assume her duties as EMMC’s president and will fully transition into EMMC’s top leadership role once Ms. Johnson retires.
5. She has previously served as CEO of the Oklahoma Heart Institute in Tulsa and hospital president and system service line executive for CHI-Franciscan Health in Tacoma, Wash.
