Dr. Vance Brown to leave Bassett Medical Center president post, but retain network CEO role

Vance M. Brown, MD, will no longer serve as president of Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Medical Center, but will retain his role as Cooperstown-based Bassett Healthcare Network CEO, according to a report by The Daily Star.

Dr. Brown noted the “adoption of an active parent model Jan. 1, 2017, the breadth and depth of my current responsibilities of overseeing network operations demand my full attention so that we can successfully address the larger issues facing the organization today,” according to the report.

William LeCates, MD, Bassett Medical Center’s vice president of medical affairs, will take over as deputy president while a succession plan is developed. Dr. LeCates previously served as medical director of the hospital.
