Dr. Ravi Chari to serve as president of HCA’s 16-hospital West Florida Division: 5 notes

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare appointed Ravi Chari, MD, president of its Tampa-based West Florida Division, effective May 1.

1. Dr. Chari currently serves as senior vice president of clinical excellence at HCA.

2. He has worked at HCA for 10 years, serving in numerous leadership roles, including as CMO of Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

3. Previously, he was a professor of surgery and chief of liver surgery and transplantation at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

4. Dr. Chari succeeds Peter Marmerstein, who is retiring after a nearly 40-year healthcare career.

5. HCA West Florida comprises 16 hospitals with 21 emergency room locations, 14 surgery centers and 21 graduate medical education programs.
