Dr. Bernard assumed her new role Sept. 9. She has prior experience working at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta and Centura Health in Centennial, Colo. She is the vice president of professional nursing practice and an adjunct assistant professor at the Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing in Atlanta.
She will be inducted as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in October.
Dr. Bernard holds a doctorate in organizational leadership from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.
