Dr. Heydt also was named CEO of Apex Medical Group, a multispecialty practice that is a subsidiary of the KPC Group.
Dr. Heydt most recently served as chief academic officer of Borrego Health, a federally qualified health center based in Borrego Springs, Calif. Before that, he was senior associate dean of clinical affairs for the University of California’s Irvine and Riverside schools of medicine. He has served as CEO of the UC Riverside Health Medical Group.
He is board-certified in both family medicine and sports medicine.
KPC Health recently received court approval to acquire four hospitals in California, seven long-term acute care hospitals and two skilled nursing facilities in several other states.
