Dr. Herbert Cushing becomes Temple University Hospital CMO

Herbert Cushing, MD, became CMO of Temple University Hospital Aug. 18, joining the Philadelphia-based hospital from Indiana University Health Physicians, where he served as medical director.

At Indiana, Dr. Cushing led the implementation of an EMR and physician order entry system, among other accomplishments.

In his new position with Temple University Hospital, Dr. Cushing is the senior physician executive on the leadership team. He provides strategic and clinical oversight of key hospital functions, working collaboratively with physicians and staff to achieve quality care, patient-safety outcomes, value creation, population health and physician engagement goals.

Dr. Cushing earned his medical degree from State University of New York-Upstate in Syracuse and is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.
