Dr. Gregory Argyros is MedStar Washington Hospital Center’s new president

Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health selected Gregory J. Argyros, MD, to serve as senior vice president as well as president of MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., effective July 1.

Dr. Argyros currently serves as senior vice president of medical affairs and CMO of MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Previously, he served the U.S. Army’s Medical Corps for 25 years, occupying several leadership roles, including chief of medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.

Dr. Argyros succeeds John Sullivan, who is retiring after nearly eight years. During his tenure, Mr. Sullivan oversaw the development of the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute in Washington, D.C., as well as a multidisciplinary stroke program.
